3, 2, 1... We bid farewell to 2021, the year of jtsec's takeoff.

2021 is drawing to a close, a year of transition in the challenge, as a society, to overcome COVID-19. A year in which most companies have returned to a new normality in their day-to-day operations.

For us, 2021 has been a very special year, where we have welcomed many new workmates, expanding the jtsec family in 22 new people. We have also been able to travel again and visit clients in Athens, Amsterdam or Tel Aviv, a great satisfaction and a feeling that we really missed.

We are also delighted to continue collaborating with the initiative to save the Iberian Lynx. This year we have adopted 16 lynxes, one for each cliente with a LINCE evaluation. We thank our clients for their contribution to this cause and for their trust in us.

In terms of work, we have been fortunate to carry out a large number of projects thanks to clients with whom we had already worked and others who have decided to trust us, creating long-term relationships, which value we the most 😊.

In 2020 we set ourselves several challenges for 2021, some of which we have already successfully overcome and others, longer term, we are facing with great enthusiasm. Among them, we would like to highlight four:

  • Accreditation as a Common Criteria laboratory: Certainly, the challenge marked in red in our calendar for 2021, to obtain the accreditation to evaluate under the Common Criteria methodology. This goal was achieved in September following an exhaustive accreditation process by ENAC and CCN.

  • CCCAB tool development: Perhaps the most exciting project we have started this year. Being part of one of the 22 projects selected by the European Commission to strengthen European cybersecurity within the framework of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program is a source of great pride. The project entails the development of a tool that will allow Common Criteria CABs to smooth the certification process of ICT products under the EUCC scheme.

  • Opening of 2 new offices: Our main office had grown too small, so we opened two offices closer to it, one housing the consulting department and the other the development department.

  • Boost of the software development department: The relevance that this department has taken in 2021 has been astounding. It currently employs 8 people dedicated exclusively to the development, improvement and updating of tools such as CCCAB, CCEval or CCGen, among others.

Since the inception of jtsec, our DNA has always been to support the improvement and creation of cybersecurity assessment methodologies. To this end, we actively participate in different associations. This year, we have also joined TEDAE and ECSO, , two associations committed to improving cybersecurity at both national and European level.

Now is the time to replenish energies enjoying the company of our loved ones. The entire jtsec team wishes you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous and healthy 2022.
