A few days ago, the ICCC21 (International Common Criteria Conference),, was held, the international reference conference on Common Criteria.
Once again, this year, it was attended by top-level speakers who covered different topics related to automation, standardisation, new cybersecurity schemes, new uses of Common Criteria...
But this year`s edition was special for us, as we decided to collaborate as Supporting Sponsor, which allowed us to have much more contact with the attendees and to be able to share our services in a virtual stand, as it was held, for the second consecutive year, online.
jtsec, present with three talks
Our presence was quite remarkable this year, as we had three talks in the programme, which are described below:
CCCAB Tool, Making CABs Life Easy: Javier Tallón, Technical Director of jtsec, in relation to automation in the field of Common Criteria, presented the CCCAB tool. This tool will allow Common Criteria CABs to facilitate the certification process of ICT products, reducing the cost and time needed in each certification process. This tool is funded by the European Commission within the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme and will be available for use free of charge.
2021 CC Statistic Report: José Pulido, senior consultant at jtsec, offered one more year, statistical data on Common Criteria, such as number of certifications, laboratories with more evaluations, most used security levels... This edition made special emphasis on how the sector is facing the post-COVID era and how it affects Common Criteria cybersecurity certifications.
Automating Common Criteria: Finally, I had the opportunity to give a talk on how automation will be a key factor for the Common Criteria community, (developers/manufacturers, testers/labs and certification bodies). Highlighting the benefits of automation tools, especially CCToolbox, developed by jtsec to improve the Common Criteria consultancy and evaluation process.
Three years as Program Director
Personally, I would like to announce that, after 3 years as Program Director at ICCC, I have chosen to step aside and give up my responsibilities in the direction of ICCC. would like to thank those who make this event possible every year for their support and involvement, as well as all the attendees and speakers that I have been lucky enough to have contact with during these three years.
Looking forward to the next edition
We would like to thank the organisers for their good work and we hope that next year it will be held in a face-to-face format and that we will be able to enjoy human contact again, thus restoring the normality that we miss so much.
Moreover, it is planned to be held in Toledo, so we will be very happy to host ICCC22.
